GLP announces new leases with Ecologistics and Berlin Brands Group

Czech and Slovak GLP parks are thus 100% leased. Thanks to the high demand for the premises, new GLP logistics parks will also be built in Ostrava and Brno. GLP has successfully leased 20,000 m2 of logistics space in two parks in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Kia Slovakia has surpassed the milestone of 4 million vehicles produced

The Kia production plant in Slovakia marked a significant production milestone in its history with the production of a four millionth vehicle, which on 24th May became the Kia Sportage model. Kia Slovakia started mass production of vehicles in 2006 and is helping to expand the Kia brand in Europe. The first vehicles in this plant were from the Ceed model line, which is manufactured to date and is constantly designed and produced in Europe, especially for European customers. Ceed models were introduced along with a unique seven-year warranty, which made them among the popular models.

A Lexus showroom will be built in Košice. It will be only the third in Slovakia

The new car show in Košice will offer Lexus and Toyota customers. The investor of the project for approximately 3.3 mil. eur is the company Auto Valas. The general contractor of the new showroom is the construction company HSF System SK. The design office Inspire Design is behind the design.

The economies of Central and Eastern Europe are expected to accelerate during 2021 and 2022, at an average rate of around 4.3% per year.

Amazon presents a European innovation laboratory

Amazon will develop new technologies that increase safety and employee satisfaction. After the successful implementation of robotic units at dozens of workplaces, the company presents the development of new ergonomic technologies that further support front-line employees and help ensure their safety. These innovations include automatic sorting stations, crate lifters and remote-controlled vehicles. Some of the advanced technologies are already part of European workplaces, others are still being tested.

New logistics concept in Prologis Park Bratislava

As part of expanding its portfolio of services, Prologis is launching a completely new concept that responds to strong demand from fast-growing companies and start-ups. The concept of "Small Flexi Units" was launched for the first time in Prologis Park Bratislava, where Prologis divided 4,800 square meters into four separate units with an area from 600 to 1,500 square meters. The main goal of "Small Flexi Units" is to help dynamic companies grow, but the space is also suitable as a more flexible option for larger companies. Three of the four units in Building 2 have already been occupied by a global freight forwarding company, a collection and sorting machine manufacturer, and a logistics company.

Lidl has expanded its logistics center in Sered by 12,000 square meters

New jobs and even higher comfort for Lidl customers are the two main results of the expansion of the Sereď Logistics Center. The area of one of the most environmentally friendly industrial buildings in the world has increased by 12,000 square meters, a quarter of its original area. The total investment amounted to 13 million euros, with construction work lasting nine months. In connection with the expansion of the warehouse, Lidl hired 40 new core employees. Over the last twelve months, Lidl has created more than 300 new jobs for an indefinite period and has recruited hundreds more during the first and second waves of the coronavirus pandemic.
