Nitra Jaguar Land Rover does not plan to interrupt production

Nitra Jaguar Land Rover has no plans to stop production yet. The company, on the other hand, announces further testing of its employees. Slovak e-shops are benefiting from the pandemic, expecting a strong Christmas

The COVID-19 pandemic had a positive effect on Slovak e-shops. As many as six out of ten online stores saw revenue growth during this period. One third by more than 30%. They also expect an increase in turnover during the current pre-Christmas period. However, even prosperous e-shops did not avoid difficulties. In particular, they struggled with suppliers' outages and logistics problems. These findings resulted from the fifth year of the E-shop Barometer survey, conducted by KPMG in Slovakia in cooperation with ui42.

IPEC is building a research and development center in Senica and is preparing other projects

The IPEC development group started the construction of a research and development center and production halls in the Senec industrial park for a German investor. In the first phase, a research and development center will be created here by partial reconstruction and attached new construction of existing buildings, in which highly qualified engineers will find work. Subsequently, new production halls with a total area of up to 20,000 m² will be added. They will arise next to existing production facilities. The developer and owner of the project is IPEC, the builder is Strabag. A total of 70 engineers will find work here in the first phase. The German manufacturer will lease the capacity from IPEC for 15 years. The building will be handed over to the user in August 2021.

The German company Ehlebracht Slowakei is moving to Košice ctPark

The international company Ehlebracht, which currently has its production in Michalovce, will move to Košice in the autumn of next year. The current capacity of the halls, in which it manufactures components for the automotive industry, as well as white goods, is no longer sufficient for it. With the expansion of production, 60-80 new jobs will be created.

One of the most dynamically growing Slovak start-ups in the field of e-commerce, the company isklad, which thanks to its own developed software brings a comprehensive logistics solution and operation to any e-shop, has leased new warehouse space in the logistics park of developer Karimpol in Senec. As the company's growth has long been limited by the capacity of the current warehouse in Bratislava *, relocation and expansion to new premises was a necessary step given the potential and waiting list of more than a hundred new e-shops from Europe and Asia.

HSF System SK has completed the construction of another building in the IMMOPARK Žilina industrial park with an area of 11,500 m2. The main tenant of the new building will be Démos trade. The investor and developer is Erste Group Immorent Slovakia.

As elsewhere in Europe, online sales in Slovakia increased significantly in the spring. The largest increase, according to Google data, compared to last year by more than 40%, was recorded in the household equipment, garden, and leisure industries, but another range also showed a large increase. "The coronavirus pandemic has shown that the logistics chain and its products are likely to change and adapt to new market conditions.
