About 90% of the world's goods are transported by sea, of which more than 70% are containerized, which is transported annually in 226 million containers on more than 50,000 merchant ships operating in the oceans. The numbers are staggering. It is therefore not surprising that the digitization of ports of call in order to increase transparency, productivity and efficiency is a major issue in this sector.
Already at the end of this year, BILLA plans to open a new central warehouse in Slovakia. The total investment in the construction of the new greenfield site, together with modern technologies and equipment, will exceed 38 million euros. The retail company will thus bring further development and new job opportunities to the region. Employees will be able to look forward not only to excellent technical facilities but also to relax in the green zone with an area of more than four hectares.
Ideanomics Mobility, an American specialist for electric vehicle manufacturers, has confirmed its investment in the Slovak InoBat Auto. Following investments from Rio Tinto and Amara Raja, it is another global company. The aim of the cooperation is to support stable production, but also the joint development and commercialization of various types of battery cells for the American market. The investments that InoBat recently received in the tens of millions of euros will be used primarily for the development of battery research and development, which will take place at the center in Voderady.
The third fund of the Arete Group, focused on quality industrial and logistics assets in the region of Central and Eastern Europe, completed just before the end of 2021 with the acquisition of the Nanogate Slovakia production plant belonging to the American Techniplas Group from the middle of this year. The Techniplas Group is the world's leading manufacturer of technologically precise and technically complex plastic components.
The construction of logistics and storage halls in Slovakia is a promising area of domestic construction. This is also confirmed by the new distribution center for Slovak Parcel Service in Trnava. The general contractor was the construction company HSF System SK. The developer of the project was the Slovak development company KLM real estate.
CTP Invest and CTP Property Czech have signed an agreement with Accentis Property International NV to purchase a 100% stake in Accentis Námestovo. The transfer of the share in Accentis Námestovo to CTP was approved by Tatra banka, a member of the Raiffeisenbank Group, but it will not take effect until it is registered in the Commercial Register in Slovakia.
The new solutions will fill the gap in the transport of pallets placed on the floor thanks to the combination of AMR navigation and MiR software with Logitrans know-how in the field of material handling.
