The Tauris Group is expanding its logistics network with a new warehouse in Košice. It will primarily serve the producer Ryba Košice, which belongs to the group's portfolio. The new logistics park with an area of approximately 2 hectares will provide a storage capacity of 1,600 pallet places. The park will also offer the possibility of completing additional storage blocks, with a capacity of 400 pallet places.

"Last year was the most successful in the history of the Tauris Group in almost thirty years of its existence. Last year's favorable results, which Ryba Košice can also boast of, have been translated into an ambition to invest in the restructuring of the plant's production and also in the construction of a new warehouse. The budgeted investment expenditures for the construction of a new warehouse for refrigerated and frozen goods with facilities, including revitalization of the surroundings, media connections and roads, are planned at approximately EUR 12.2 million. They will move towards the construction of a new logistics warehouse, including the development of ecological solutions. Together with the new RYBA Košice production plant, we plan to invest EUR 25 million in Košice. I believe that this investment will bring the plant another successful future, support our ambition to bring the highest quality products to the market, meet the high demands of production ecology and, last but not least, maintain employment in the region. I believe that this investment will bring the plant another successful future, support our ambition to bring the highest quality products to the market, meet high demands on production ecology and, last but not least, maintain employment in the region, "said the president of the ECO - INVESTMENT a.s. Milan Fiľo, of which Tauris Group is a part.

An important logistics hub

The Tauris Group's plants handle and deliver tens of tons of goods to their customers every day. The new central warehouse in Košice connected with production will therefore represent one of the main logistics hubs for the company. "Every Slovak is probably familiar with Košice cod, and its retro taste is often associated with home. When deciding on the investment in the new Fish and the place where we will build it, we decided with our hearts. Košice cod has belonged to Košice for 70 years. Thanks to the perfect location of this industrial zone and the expertise of our employees in the field of storage, we are able to deliver the required number of products to our partners in the shortest possible time. The new warehouse will cover the daily distribution of goods for the Košice and partly also the Prešov region. Other distribution centers located throughout Slovakia, as well as in neighboring the Czech Republic and Hungary, will also be supplied, ”explains Richard Duda. The newly built warehouse is designed for storage of production raw materials as well as the chilled and frozen products of Ryby Košice. It will include six shipping ramps and one receiving ramp, as well as a special loading ramp for the distribution of chilled and frozen food.

In total, several dozen employees will work in the newly built plant. "Employees are our most valuable resource. New premises, production automation and digitization of warehouse processes address our needs and requirements, thus eliminating the need for employees to perform most manual work, which allows them to focus on more demanding activities, thus streamlining the plant, but also its impact on employee health and the environment. , ”Adds Duda.

Nature-friendly operation

With the investment in the modernization of the logistics network comes the development of ecological solutions. The new central warehouse will obtain part of the electricity needed to operate the warehouse using photovoltaic panels located on the roof of the building. At the same time, it will play the role of capturing precipitation that will reach groundwater supplies. The green roof, which also contributes to the natural balance of the microclimate, occupies a total area of 800 m2.

The company also plans to use other forms of natural energy production, such as heat pumps. The investment also includes charging stations for electric cars, as well as bicycles and scooters. At the same time, by modifying the surrounding terrain, TAURIS GROUP will build a grassy area of 4,683 m2 in the area of the new plant and plant about 20 new tall trees.
