Electric tractors and platform trucks are a matter of course in every modern workplace. Ports, car manufacturers, international airports and train stations, logistics companies, forwarding companies and a huge number of production plants around the world have trusted the quality of STILL tractors and platform trucks for many years. The intra-logistics solution provider from Hamburg has once again expanded its portfolio and focused on the future. The new LXT 120-350 electric tractors with a towing weight of between 12 and 35 tons and the LXW 20-30 electric platform trucks (loading area two and three tons, six tons towing load) offer a wide range of modular equipment options and impress with their performance. . Challenging tests in a variety of industries and sometimes in very harsh conditions have shown that efficiency and maximum performance can be perfectly matched with these new trucks.

Safe ramping

STILL experts are truly proud of their Descent Speed Regulation (DSR) assistance system. "This is an absolute world first," emphasize STILL experts Alexander Claus, product manager for tractors, and Janos Poppe, product trainer for tractors.

"This unique system supports drivers in safe ramping while increasing transhipment performance. With towing loads of up to 35 tons, drivers and drivers always drive with the situation in mind - and at the same time as fast as possible, ”says Janos Poppe. Depending on the design of the system, the DSR monitors the exact slope and actual weight of the load on steep ramps. At the same time, by intervening in the brake system with multi-disc brakes in the oil bath, the speed automatically adjusts to the relevant conditions. In the Basic version, which is installed in all trucks, the descent speed is manually limited by a switch to a predefined speed. In the alternative version on the ECO order, the descent system is shown on the display and the speed is automatically limited to a predefined value.

In the premium DSR version, the automatic speed reduction depends on the descent and, in addition, on the weight of the attached trailer. The traction load is determined by measuring the torque on the drive motors. "This highly innovative detection method, which monitors the towing load on the towing equipment coupling, is unique in the world and is only used on STILL trucks," says product manager Alexander Claus.

No compromises in technical equipment

STILL developers also cared about other technical components of the new trucks. The trucks thus have hydraulic multi-disc brakes on both axles, which enable very powerful and precise braking, they work without wear and are almost noiseless. Thanks to the generator braking of the electric drive, energy is also recovered during braking. The parking brake also operates electrically and activates automatically.

The LXT / LXW series trucks are powered by two 10.5 kW motors on the rear axle. Three-phase 80V motors are encapsulated and maintenance-free. Intelligent engine management ensures agile driving characteristics and, thanks to the speed-controlled drive, there is no loss of speed even on long climbs. The maximum speed in LXT trucks without a load is 25 km / h, the LXW truck reaches a speed of up to 23 km / h. Tractors and platform trucks can be charged quickly and easily without having to open the hood thanks to the quick-loading socket or integrated charger.

Lots of comfort during long working days

The new cab is very spacious and also offers tall drivers plenty of headroom and ample legroom. A variety of seat adjustment options ensure a comfortable workplace and allow each driver and driver to set the right position for comfortable work. The driver's cab itself is mounted on rubber elements and is thus separated from the chassis to dampen vibrations. The chassis with extra long coil springs is also sprung and provides high driving comfort and high driving stability. Thanks to the STILL Easy Control color display, drivers have a constant overview of all important information - such as steering wheel position, direction of travel, driving program, speed, tilt angle, load or charge status. The new steering wheel with a custom-supplied head enables simple and ergonomic control of the fully hydraulic steering. In addition, its contact surface grips well.

Better visibility for security

The glass cab provides an optimal view of the new trucks on all sides. Compared to previous models, it has a 23 percent larger window area. Optimal all-round visibility increases safety and prevents violent damage. The reversing camera on request facilitates maneuvering and coupling the trailer when reversing. The optional Curve Speed Control system also provides protection against accidents and damage to the goods, which automatically adjusts the speed when cornering, thus ensuring safe cornering.

The trucks can be easily integrated into control systems such as STILL neXXt fleet, the most innovative and powerful web portal for optimizing fleets of handling technology, via a custom-made interface. With this system, users have all the relevant information for quick analysis or optimization in a single tool. Other optional safety devices include STILL Flashlight, Safety Light 4Plus, FleetManager and an intelligent acoustic warning signal, the volume of which is always 10 dB higher than the surrounding noise. The truck always warns pedestrians and other road users at the correct volume without unnecessarily burdening the drivers and warned people with noise.
