The largest increase, according to Google data, compared to last year by more than 40%, was recorded in the household equipment, garden, and leisure industries, but another range also showed a large increase. "The coronavirus pandemic has shown that the logistics chain and its products are likely to change and adapt to new market conditions. The pandemic has become an accelerator of changes that would probably occur in the near future,“ thinks Marian Vaculčiak, Operations Director of Geis SK.

Dachser's Rheine logistics center creates even more space for warehousing and value-added services. Construction is underway near a new distribution center, which will be commissioned in October 2020. The center of the facility on Sandkampstrasse is a 20,800 m2 logistics terminal with 26 loading gates for trucks and up to 36,800 pallet spaces. In addition, there are approximately 1,200 m2 of office space.

New logistics center for freight transport in the village of Budča in the district of Zvolen

This is the intention of the Banská Bystrica company Complete Services. According to the plan submitted by the company for its environmental impact assessment (EIA), the total implementation costs amount to approximately EUR 29.5 million excluding VAT. The subject of the operation of the logistics center is to be the storage and assembly of small mechanisms used mainly in the automotive industry. The investor plans to start construction lasting 15 months in November next year and start operating the premises in February 2023.

Alza has opened a new logistics center in Senec

Alza wants to deliver even more orders on the same day this Christmas. This is to enable the company to expand its storage capacity by 39% and further strengthen AlzaExpres transport. Storage areas in Slovakia have doubled not only thanks to the new logistics center in Senec but also due to the increase in the capacity of the upcoming premises. This will enable faster delivery of shipments in Slovakia, Hungary, and Moravia.

Next halls will be built near Dunajská Streda, 900 jobs will be created

The plan to build additional halls at Dunajská Streda results from the intention presented for the environmental impact assessment. The office was presented by the firm IPK 1, behind the Austrian developer Go Asset. The project hasn't commented yet. He invited Atrios, an architectural studio with whom he had worked in the past. Known name Go Asset has already built a logistics center in Church Kračany in the past and sold it to an international player in the industrial property segment Gramercy Europe in March. This logistics center is used by KiK, which in the meantime has gone under the XXXLutz portfolio. Land, where the halls will be built, is located in the northwest part of the village. They are close to the road, which is the main transport connection on the route Bratislava - Dunajská Streda - Komárno. All three halls will be single-storey buildings with several internal two-storey buildings and one exterior extension, which will serve as an office building. Bet on automotive The investment covers an area of ​​more than 18 hectares, with a total built-up area of ​​all three halls representing more than 101 thousand square meters. The largest hall is supposed to have 59 255 m², the second 32 910 m² and the smallest 9 080 m². The investor estimates that 20 percent of the total built-up area, ie less than 20,000 m², will be earmarked for production activities. At the same time, a parking lot with 475 parking spaces is being prepared. Goet Asset would like to start building halls in the last quarter of this year. The construction is planned to be completed in mid-2021. Estimation of complete operation is estimated at the turn of 2023 and 2024. In addition to warehousing and logistics, light production is also planned. The investor expects tenants from the automotive and electronics industries. Among their likely activities are the installation of automotive interior equipment, installation of cable harnesses, curtains, rear shelves, assembly of plastic parts and assembly of electronic products. Currently, several companies are located in Kostolny Kracany in individual halls, such as the lift manufacturer Schindler, the furniture company Master Wood or the company Wertheim, supplying solutions for the banking sector. Complications in finding people According to the investor, the park should bring 920 jobs to the region, of which 750 are planned for production and 170 people should be in administration. According to the latest data from the Central Office of Labor, Social Affairs and Family, the current unemployment rate in Dunajská Streda is 2.16 percent. Goet Asset would like to start construction of halls in the last quarter of this year. The construction is planned to be completed in mid-2021. Companies should be so prepared that they may have to invest more in training new people, ”says Nikola Richterová, a spokeswoman for the job portal, Profession.
