Manually operated electric forklifts are used in almost every industry. Small and medium-sized businesses, retail stores or manufacturing and craft businesses with limited storage and work spaces rely on this segment of trolleys. At the LogiMAT 2024 trade fair in Stuttgart, Jungheinrich presented a new, ground-up, range of electric manual forklifts in the entry-level segment for this customer group. For the first time in this class of trucks, the company is also consistently focusing on the use of state-of-the-art lithium-ion technology. In addition to well-known advantages, such as the possibility of fast and continuous charging, maintenance-free operation and sustainability, the trucks of the new EJC 1i series benefit primarily from the high energy density of lithium-ion batteries. Instead of the large energy storage unit required by lead-acid batteries, Jungheinrich managed to squeeze it into a much smaller battery module within the cart, saving space. Thus, the engineers made full use of the freedom they had when designing the structure.

For example, the XS version of the EJC 112i model with a 100 Ah battery has an L2 dimension of only 604 mm. This is 68 mm less than the most compact version of the previous model. Even with a large 200 Ah battery, the new EJC 112i model is more compact with an L2 dimension of only 654 mm. Especially in narrow aisles and storage areas, you will appreciate the impressive turning radius, which allows even inexperienced users to maneuver easily, accurately and safely with the EJC 1i series trucks. Contributing to this is the fact that Jungheinrich has significantly reduced the overall height of the new electric hand-guided forklifts, significantly improving the visibility of the forks, the load and the working environment.

Although the EJC 1i series trucks are significantly more compact and smaller than the previous models in the series, Jungheinrich has again managed to significantly improve their stability. Its secret is the intelligent distribution of weight within the chassis of the truck and the related optimization of the center of gravity, as well as the use of new profiles of the lifting device. The result is a significant increase in residual capacity by up to 250 kg, i.e. 62.5%. Thanks to a more powerful pump, the new stackers also enable approximately 50 percent faster lifting. In addition, Jungheinrich has also significantly increased the launch speed.

"The smaller and lighter the battery and the cart, the lower the stability and therefore the residual load capacity - this rule no longer applies. With our EJC 1i series, we have succeeded in achieving a combination of compactness and performance that is unmatched in this segment," explained Christian Erlach, Jungheinrich's Sales Director.

EJC 1i series trucks are available with lithium-ion batteries in five different capacities: 50 Ah, 100 Ah, 105 Ah, 150 Ah and 200 Ah. All models are equipped with built-in chargers for flexible charging in any socket. You can choose from different power classes of 15 A, 35 A or 70 A. You can therefore choose exactly the battery that best suits your requirements.

Jungheinrich offers a wide range of different variants within the EJC 1i range. Among them you will also find the standard EJC 110i/112i model, which can transport loads weighing up to 1,200 kg and can be ordered with a lifting height of up to 4.70 m. The offer also includes the EJC 110zi/112zi model variant with an additional lift, which allows the wheel support arms to be lifted in addition to the forks. The additional lift has a load capacity of up to 1,600 kg. For simple stacking tasks, Jungheinrich is also bringing back to the market a model variant with a single mast that reaches a lifting height of up to 2.00 m with a load capacity of up to 1,000 kg. Another version with a wide width of support arms is suitable for handling special load carriers, closed pallets and transversal transport of euro pallets. With a special focus on online sales, Jungheinrich designed the pre-configured, readily available EJC 010i model for easy and occasional use. It can transport loads weighing up to 1,000 kg and reaches a lifting height of up to 3.60 m.
